The PGBV leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the area of Conservation and Utilization of Biodiversity with Concept 4 in the first evaluations carried out by Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – CAPES (2010-2012 and 2013-2016).

The research areas offer are:

Plant Ecophysiology and Morphology

Aims to know plant structure and plant-environment relationship in natural or human-modified ecosystems.

Medicinal Plants and Secondary Metabolism

Aims to know and to assess biological activities of medicinal plants, and the role and production of metabolites of interest.

Plant Propagation and Conservation

Aims the propagation, morphogenesis and conservation of plants via conventional methods or in vitro culture, including the use of molecular markers for the analysis of genetic stability of the plant material.
